Tom is a self-portrait artist who is currently looking into gender representation. His work takes particular interest in gender archetypes within the media, for instance commenting on the idea of the media portraying men as big and butch, a not afraid to get their hands dirty, and for females, the appeal of the colour pink and having long hair. Looking also at the idea that there is no “you can be your own person” anymore.

Tom wants to use his artwork as a means for change. He makes clever use of satire within his visuals, as an effective tool to make this particular grey area no more.
