Philippa explores many different areas of photography, from documentary to experimental darkroom practice. Within her documentary work she has covered topics from current contemporary themes such as empty shop fronts, housing developments and cultural diversity in Cambridge. A particular favourite project of the artists however was her work with people and their collections, in which she made each collection into a handmade concertina book. This project allowed Philippa to meet new people and find out what it means to be a collector.

 

In recent work Philippa has been experimenting within a different area of photography, taking particular interest in the theme of identity through portraits. For this project she has been working in the darkroom making photograms and using layering to make abstract prints.
