Patryk Majewski

Being a model for knowledge, still life explores a range of philosophical theories through the use of inanimate objects. Individuals experience objects differently, meaning they react to them in their own personal ways. While searching for faces in everything, people have anthropomorphic tendencies, meaning we often connect with objects on a level we do with humans. In his practical and theoretical work, Patryk Majewski explores the relations between inanimate objects and humans.

Through the use of objects and conceptual ideas, he develops a critical view within a range of Social and Political issues whilst exploring the genre of still life. Inspiration from the surrounding world, contemporary still life photography and 16th century Dutch still life paintings results in a varied range of work. Featuring objects we see every day and placing them within a certain context allows him to express opinions, develop an understanding and critically assess the themes.
