As a photographer, Alana finds inspiration in nature with the comparison of mans’ significance in relation to the worlds magnitude. Her interest predominantly focuses on landscape and architectural photography. 

Digital photography and photo manipulation are her chosen mediums which allow her to add dimension to her photography that heightens the viewers experience. A recent recognition at the Sony World Photography Awards 2016 commended Alana in the enhanced category with her photo ‘Material World’.

In her current work, she explores the balance between industry’s growing needs and its effect on the environment. Her objective is to demonstrate that industry has a responsibility to conduct their businesses in an ecological and humane manner. Her inspiration for this genre of work came from Edward Burtynsky who explores residual landscape and how nature is transformed by commerce.
